'60s Michael Mott for Paraphernalia Velvet Mini Dress. made from a super soft crushed cotton velvet in a deep mossy green. large faux pearls button up the front. its a fun play on a military silhouette! the skirt of the dress does not fasten and may open when you walk! you can add some fasteners or wearing some tights or shorts underneath! overall amazing shape. best fit XS.
Paraphernalia boutique opened in NYC in 1965 and was a response to the growing youth movement happening in London. young and designers such as Betsey Johnson and Michael Mott were employed to create fresh and outlandish fashions to attract a hip crowd. the opening party was hosted by Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground played a set. fans of the boutique included Twiggy and Edie Sedwick.
